Today marks one month since I started this blog. I really don't know why I didn't do this before. There are a few reasons why I am liking this.
- I like to write. One of my goals since I was a child is to someday write a book. I have to admit that this goal has been shoved back in the recesses of my mind. I do like to write though and this blog has given me an outlet for writing.
- I like to think. I am finding that the more I write the better I think. Sometimes I will whip out one of these blogs in just a matter of minutes but at other times it is a process that takes time. The nice thing is, I can sort of have a conversation with myself while writing. I can go back over what I wrote and say things like "Does that make sense?", "Do you really believe that?", "Are you sure you don't need to think this through a little more?", etc...
- I like the fact that this gives me a new way to connect with people in the congregation. I think blogging opens my mind to them (you) and can give people a real sense of who I am.
- I like the fact that I have to be disciplined and can be held accountable. I will admit, I am not the most discipline person in the world (right Walt!!!), but since I have started blogging I have found myself becoming disciplined in other areas. One area is personal time with God, but now that I am posting my SOAP studies it helps me be more devoted. I've also never had much accountability. Thank God I haven't gone off the deep end, but blogging opens my life up for people to hold me accountable. I thinks it great! (With that said, I'd like to thank whoever it is that challenged my essentials list. I knew I was going to have to spend more time on it. I just didn't think it was going to be this soon! But it is good. I love a good challenge and I promise to respond to you.)
