First day of CIY, the high school camp, here in Las Vegas.

Tonight's message was taken from the life of Moses. The main point was finding our identity in the midst of forces that falsely claim the right to shape our identity. The only one who has that right is our creator, and strangely enough, our identity is revealed in God's identity. To understand who we are we must discover who God is.

Each evening will end in a worship time that seems liturgical, and in ways is. We are asked at the end to respond in a way that we feel the Holy Spirit leading. I think the teens felt very uncomfortable with this style of worship. I pray that by the end of the week we all learn how to worship God in ways that seem foriegn. I think that if we can learn to let go we may learn how to listen better.
