This session was titled "Following the Lord."
If you want to live a legendary life you need to follow the Lord. Micah 6:8 tells us how to follow God.
First, a person needs to act justly. To act justly means to do what is right. To many people don't do what is right and a good way to tell if a heart is hardened to doing right is the attitude a person has. An "I don't care" attitude reflects a hard heart. A heart that is hard needs a transplant. In Ezekiel 36:26 God promises that He can take the hard heart and change it. All it takes is sincere prayer on our part and God will do what He promises.
A just heart is evidenced through the right actions of a person. The more right actions the more just a heart becomes. It starts with simple things like picking up trash. Just is doing what is right in God's eyes. Greg said that your yesterdays do not determine your tomorrows becasue Jesus can give you the power to change.
Second, God wants us to love mercy. Mercy is treating others the way Jesus treats us. Jesus has set the example by continuing to love us even when we don't deserve it. Because we are forgiven we can forgive. Because we are loved we can love. It is forgiveness that draws the sinner to Christ, and it is also forgiveness that draws people together. We shouldn't be people who are bent on revenge but people who love to forgive.
Third, God wants us to walk humbly with Him. The Scripture says "your God." We need to know that God is our God, not just the God of our parents, youth pastors, etc..., but we OUR God. We need to make the decision to serve God by becoming more like Him.
We exist to glorify God. We exist to make Him look good. Our focus should be on becoming more like Jesus. When we do this we actually show people who He is. As Christians we have a choice, we can make Him look good or we can make Him look bad. We need to make Him look good! We need to seek to serve others as God has served us. This is humbleness.
