In case some of you haven't heard, Mark K's mother passed away. Our prayers and support go out to the family. May God grant them peace and give them wisdom during this time.
One of the great things about being a part of the church is how flexible people in our congregation are. Through the course of crises, that will never stop occurring, I am continually amazed at how people in our church respond to the needs of others. When people respond in such a way where they put others above themselves, such as the giving up of personal time and resources, I see Christ at work, and this is the way it should be. It is Christ in us.
I would remind us all that there are a number of people in our congregation that have lost loved ones. It is very easy to acknowledge the loss of another and then go on living life having forgot that they are in need. I challenge all of us to to take a little time out of our week to do something for one of these who are hurting. It can be as simple as a phone call, a prayer, a card, to taking them out for dinner, seeing if they have any needs that we could meet (cleaning house, washing the car, watching the kids, etc...). Let's not forget our grieving brothers and sisters.
It is an honor and privilege to serve with the people of KCC. Keep up the great work!!! I love you all.
