To blog or not to blog. That is the ever occuring question in today's media driven world.

Well, here is my first blog. To be honest, I don't know how well I am going to be at this. Blogging is like writing in a diary and when I was a kid I used to call it diarrhea (Okay, the story is I told my parents I wanted a diarrhea for Christmas). Sort of describes how these things work for me. It's there one moment and I'm being consistent then all of a sudden it's gone. Okay, so much for my first blog right.

Honestly though, we have moved into an age of technology where the only way we will go back is if some space alien comes to earth and disrupts all Internet traffic by sucking the planet's energy supply in just two minutes. And the chances of that happening is...do I even need to go there. So as I was saying, we have moved into this age of technology and it is time to use it to my advantage, or at least make a feeble attempt.

My hope in doing this is twofold. First, it will give the teens a chance to get to know me a little better. At least that is what I am thinking. I could be wrong. Perhaps teens won't even be interested in seeing a youth pastor's blogs. Just in case this is the case I have also got a Twitter account (which none of the teens have). So why am I doing this? Oh yeah, hopefully it will give teens a chance to get to know me a little better and hopefully it will be a discipline I can develop as I know such disciplines are good. At least that is what I've heard. Frankly, the only thing I've ever been disciplined at is eating on time and over time and that isn't a good thing to be disciplined at.

As I was saying, the art of journaling has been a discipline used for spiritual growth since writing was developed. Basically that is what blogging is. I hope I can we consistent in doing this as I think I will benefit from it even if others don't.

Okay, I've written enough already.

Chow!

Personally I think it's great. I wish every pastor had a blog. I love the fact that I can learn more about ministry and the ministers by readying what's going on in their lives and also want interests them. I really wish I had access to this kind of information a few years ago, I might have gone into ministry myself. But I digress just wanted to say thank you for the blog, and I will probably be a loyal reader. Great job, keep up the work.
